Spioenkop Nature Reserve

Spioenkop Nature Reserve, located 18 km from the town of Bergville, is a fantastic little reserve surrounding the large Spioenkop Dam. The iPhika Tented Bush Camp is located near the dam and has a thatched roof lounge, a bar and a self-catering kitchen. The reserve has rhino, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and a variety of antelope. Horse rides (1hr, R110) through the park make it easier to spot big game. There is also a hiking trail around the southern shore of the dam in an area uninhabited by the larger animals. The entrance to the nature reserve is about 2 km east of the signed turnoff from the R600.
