Vaalwater is a quaint slow-paced small town. It’s the perfect jumping-off point to explore the surrounding Waterberg Biosphere region or can be just a place to get away and enjoy some time in a rural town away from the city.

Vaalwater is a relaxed and scenic town from which to explore the surrounding Waterburg area and its activities; however there isn't much in the way of sights and activities in the town itself. If you are in need of some in-town entertainment, contact William at the AHA Tourism Information Office. He can arrange donkey-cart rides or bring in a performing choir from one of the surrounding townships.

Waterberg Elephant Back Safaris

Waterberg Elephant Back Safaris allows you to get up close and personal with the elephants and view the game without the invasiveness of a motor vehicle. To get there head north out of town on Voortrekker St/R517 for 8.3 km and turn left onto a dirt road (at S 24 16.504 E 027 29.868). Continue on the dirt road 9.1 km to the entrance gate.

Zeederberg Cottages & Backpackers is located behind the Zeederberg Center.
